We are a Chicago-Area shop catering to the needs of the largest member of the String Family, the Double Bass. We sell basses from the least expensive [that meet our minimal quality requirements] to several select instruments that are valued at over $ 20,000.00. All of our instruments have new professional-level strings and almost always have an upgraded endpin – except in cases where a good one comes from the factory.

Our “Special Niche” is to provide reasonably priced instruments and bows for professionals and the serious student, perhaps bound for conservatory studies in college. Over twenty instruments in the
$ 4,000.00 – $ 12,000.00 range are presently available.

We stock those hard-to-find 1/10th, 1/8th, 1/4, and 1/2 size instruments.

We also stock a variety of strings (particularly D’Addario Helicore), transducer pick-ups, stroller wheels, French & German bows, rosin, and mutes. We are a Mooradian Cover (soft, padded case) dealer.

We believe that a musician must find the ideal instrument for him or herself, and consider it our duty to assist in any way we can. For example, we never hesitate to give out information about other area shops – if your “perfect bass” is on the rack there, and not in my shop, then you should probably buy it there!
