The Complete Double Bass Parts series compiled, fingered and bowed by Oscar Zimmerman remains one of the core components of every
orchestral bassist’s library. One should eventually purchase all of these volumes for their collection–they will be used throughout
a bassist’s career. I still have the volumes from this set that I purchased in high school. They are well-worn and constantly used
as a reference.

These books are infinitely more valuable than standard excerpt books because they contain the complete parts to all of these major
works. Excerpt books are typically scant on passages and full of questionable errors and editorial marks. It is always better to
go to the original source, and these parts fill that need for the orchestral double bassist.
